Jin Shin Jyutsu is the gentle application of hands on specific locations of the body to facilitate the movement of life energy.
The life energy circulates throughout the entire body to nourish all cells and functions. The stressors of daily living, illness, trauma, and or environmental factors can cause the life energy to deviate from the original path.
Over a period of time, this deviation can cause a change in the directionality of the energy flow which can lead to discomforts in the body both emotionally and physically. This change is similar to what happens when a dam is built in the middle of a river. The river continues to flow but the path has been altered by the debris of the dam.
Jin Shin Jyutsu works to restore the integrity of the life energy by removing the dams.

What can I expect from a session?
Sessions last approximately one hour depending on individual needs of the client. The client lies face up on a massage table and is fully clothed during the session. The practitioner will begin by listening to the client's energetic pulses. The pulses provide the practitioner with information regarding the client's energetic body and what areas may need support.
While the client is resting comfortably on the table, the practitioner will use various hand placements/sequences referred to as "flows" to promote the movement of the energy in a specific area or areas. The practitioner uses gentle touch with very little pressure, no rubbing or manipulation of soft tissue or physical movement of the body is needed or necessary. Clients report an overall feeling of deep relaxation during a session.
At the conclusion of the session the practitioner will provide the client with additional tools referred to as self-help to further aid balance in the energetic body. Self-help can be utilized at any time between sessions with a practitioner and is highly recommended.
